We take great pride in curating our natural stones from sustainable sources. Each stone slab from which our tabletops are cut is unique in colour, markings and mineral composition. Therefore, each piece of furniture will – by default – be a UNIKA. For orders of table sets which are intended to be displayed together, we strive to match the stone slabs, if you let us know beforehand.

 

Beige

This beige coloured quartzite was created millions of years ago. The lively structure of this metamorphic sandstone makes it even more beautiful with a polished surface. Our beige is not scratch sensitive and acid resistant.

Grey

The polished light grey stone gives every table a striking look. This soft quartzite with its cloudy structure is a metamorphic carbonate rock and consists almost exclusively of calcite and/or dolomite. Millions of years ago, our Grey was transformed into a fully crystalline rock by exposure to pressure and heat. Soft quartzites are usually acid sensitive, so please be careful for example with wine, citrus fruit or tomatoes.

Black

This black slate is seldomly found polished, which brings out its cloudy and uniform structure. Slate is one of the metamorphic sedimentary rocks. The rock consists of many superimposed plates and leaf-like structures of mainly clay minerals (layered silicates), quartz and feldspar. Our Black is a bit softer, take care not to scratch it. Also with this stone, you might want to keep an eye on acidy liquids.

 

Brown

This medium-/dark brown quartzite shows inclusions of white and amber tones, which makes it very versatile in combination with other warm colours.  With its volcanic origin, it is scratch resistant and is not too sensitive towards acidic liquids.

 

Magic

Our dark granite has a unique cloudy structure, which is especially visible when polished. Granite is a hard rock of volcanic origin and is one of the deep rocks that originated ages ago from cooled magma in the depths of the earth's crust. Although our Magic consists largely of quartz crystals and feldspar, it might contain small round rubies. This hard rock is scratch and acid resistant.
